Hajia Umma El-Rufai to be Buried Today in Abuja

Hajia Umma El-Rufai, the mother of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, is set to be buried in Abuja today. The family announced that the janazah prayer for the deceased will take place at the National Mosque in Abuja on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM.

Following the prayer, the burial will occur immediately at Gudu Cemetery, in accordance with Islamic rites. The announcement was made in a statement signed by Hon.

Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives and grandson of the deceased. The family expressed deep appreciation for the outpouring of prayers and condolences during this time of grief, invoking blessings for the deceased and requesting forgiveness for any shortcomings.

Hajia Umma El-Rufai reportedly received treatment at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt, prior to her passing.
