Northern Governors Mourn Hajiya Umma El-Rufai's Passing

Northern governors and dignitaries gathered in Abuja to mourn the passing of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, the mother of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai. The funeral prayer, known as Janazah, was attended by Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who is also the chairman of the Northern States Governors Forum.

He expressed profound sorrow over the loss, describing it as an irreplaceable void for the El-Rufai family. Governor Yahaya commended Hajiya Umma for her character, humility, and strong moral values, which she instilled in her family.

He urged the family to find solace in her exemplary life and the positive legacy she left behind. The funeral service also saw the attendance of notable figures, including the 16th Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, alongside the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
