Datti Baba-Ahmed Joins People's Redemption Party in Zaria

Datti Baba-Ahmed, who was the vice presidential candidate for the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, has officially defected to the People's Redemption Party (PRP). He received his membership card on Wednesday in Zaria, accompanied by political associates at the PRP ward secretariat in Tudun Wada.

Baba-Ahmed criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for allegedly weakening opposition parties, including the Labour Party, which he accused of undermining its own success. He expressed confidence in the PRP as a stable and credible opposition platform capable of challenging the APC.

Baba-Ahmed also highlighted ongoing efforts to destabilize the Labour Party, which influenced his decision to leave. He described the PRP's leadership as credible and uncompromising, predicting that the party would attract more Nigerians in the coming months.
