Baba-Ahmed Joins PRP, Boosting Political Reform Agenda

Baba-Ahmed, the former vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has officially joined the People's Redemption Party (PRP), as announced in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja. The PRP described his defection as a significant boost to its vision of reforming and prospering Nigeria.

The party emphasized that Baba-Ahmed's decision signals a new dawn for its political movement and reinforces its commitment to national renewal and good governance. His entry, along with support from across the country, is expected to strengthen the party's push for integrated governance, improved security, and economic transformation.

The PRP reiterated its focus on creating a just and secure nation through its five-point agenda, which includes restoring credible leadership and tackling insecurity. Baba-Ahmed also revealed his political plans ahead of the 2027 presidential elections, suggesting that Peter Obi consider choosing a new running mate among strong political figures.

He expressed concerns about Obi's approach to reclaiming his mandate and offered advice for future political strategies.
