Olusegun Mimiko Resigns from PDP Ahead of 2027 Elections

Olusegun Mimiko, who previously served as the governor of Ondo State, has officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. His resignation is effective from April 10, 2026, as stated in a letter addressed to the chairman of Ward 7 in Ondo West Local Government Area.

In his resignation letter, Mimiko expressed that the growing uncertainty in the political landscape over recent months necessitated a clear declaration of his stance, indicating a distancing from party activities. He emphasized that his decision to leave the PDP was made calmly and without personal grudges against the party.
