Ex-Ondo Governor Mimiko Joins APC, Resigns from PDP

On Thursday, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, the former Governor of Ondo State, formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Ward 7 secretariat in Ondo Town, after resigning from the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, the state chairman of APC, welcomed Mimiko, who expressed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration and its efforts towards peace, progress, and genuine development in Nigeria.

Mimiko's transition to APC follows a period of limited activity within the PDP, where he had distanced himself from party engagements. His formal joining is viewed as a homecoming to APC, with expectations that it will positively impact health, education, and infrastructure in Ondo State.

The event was attended by various political figures, including Hon. Joseph Iranola Akinlaja, who noted that Mimiko's contribution would enhance the party's electoral success in future elections.
