Federal Government Explains National Grid Collapse; Restoration Efforts Ongoing

The Federal Government has clarified the cause of the recent national grid collapse, attributing it to a significant load drop that cascaded through power generation companies (GenCos). The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) managed the grid and initiated restoration efforts, with progress made in restoring power across the country.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the collapse and to prevent future occurrences. Power supply has been partially restored, with efforts continuing.
