FG Panel Confirms Uche Nnaji Forged UNN Degree Certificate

A federal government investigative panel has confirmed that Uche Nnaji, the former Minister of Science and Technology, forged his degree certificate from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). The seven-member panel, constituted by the Ministry of Education, found that Nnaji did not graduate from the institution, despite presenting a certificate allegedly issued in July 1985.

The panel was established on November 23, 2025, following a petition submitted to the Minister of Education on October 14, 2025. The investigation revealed that Nnaji's name did not appear on the graduation list for 1985, and he failed a required course.

Although he gained admission in the 1981/82 academic session, he did not fulfill the necessary requirements to graduate. Nnaji resigned from his ministerial position three days after the investigation was published.

The panel's findings align with earlier reports, prompting calls for prosecution of individuals involved in the certificate forgery.
