IGP Egbetokun disburses ₦2.1bn to families of fallen officers in solemn ceremony

In a significant move, IGP Egbetokun disbursed ₦2.1bn to families of over 1,000 fallen police officers during a ceremony at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. The payment, part of the Group Life Assurance under the IGP Family Welfare Schemes, covered the period from 2015 to 2025, including outstanding claims.

This marked the 11th disbursement under Egbetokun's tenure, exceeding a total of ₦10bn. The IGP emphasized the importance of honoring fallen officers and redesigning welfare structures for transparency and efficiency.

He commended the Force Insurance Unit and stakeholders for their support. The initiative received praise from President Bola Tinubu for its commitment to police welfare.
