Ajagungbade Emir Shot Dead in Ile-Ife; Adeleke Responds

Tension has risen in Ile-Ife, Osun State, after the killing of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ajagungbade Emir, who was shot dead on Sunday by suspected hoodlums amid a dispute over garage control. In response, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke ordered the immediate arrest of all individuals involved in the incident and directed security agencies to restore normalcy in motor parks and affected areas.

A statement from his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, indicated that Adeleke also instructed warring groups to vacate the motor parks and announced plans to establish a Park Management System to ensure orderliness. The governor emphasized the need for law and order, stating that there would be no exceptions for culprits.

He called on the public to remain calm and assured them of the government's commitment to restoring peace in the affected areas. An Executive Order for the new management system is expected to be issued soon.
