APC Chieftain Alhaji Abdul Waheed Olajide Passes Away

Alhaji Abdul Waheed Akintola Olajide, who served as Secretary to the Government during the administration of the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, died on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. His age was reported to be either 74 or 80 years old, with conflicting accounts.

His family confirmed his death in a statement released on Wednesday, August 26, describing him as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and cousin. They expressed gratitude for his life and requested prayers and support during their grieving period.

Olajide was buried in Ibadan on August 26, 2026, following Islamic burial rites. He was a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was regarded as a dedicated public servant in Oyo State.

Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola De-Damak, the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, expressed deep sadness over Olajide's passing, calling him a man of integrity and a devout Muslim. Faysol Oluwakemi shared a personal tribute, recalling Olajide's guidance during his political journey.
