Kano Governor Yusuf Restructures Education Sector, Sacks Gwarzo

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has officially sacked Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo from his role as Education Commissioner. This decision is part of a significant restructuring of the education sector aimed at enhancing policy coordination and accelerating reforms within the state's educational system.

The restructuring involves the dissolution of the Ministry of Higher Education, which will be merged into the newly established Ministry of Education. A statement from the governor's spokesperson, Sanusi Batur Dawakin Tofa, indicated that a new director will manage tertiary education, supported by a permanent secretary and necessary personnel.

The restructuring also entails that agencies previously operating under the former Ministry of Higher Education will revert to the Ministry of Education. The changes are intended to eliminate duplication of responsibilities, reduce administrative costs, and improve the efficiency of educational management across the state.
