Javier Mascherano Resigns as Inter Miami Head Coach

Javier Mascherano has resigned from his position as head coach of Inter Miami CF, effective immediately, as announced by the club on Tuesday. He cited personal reasons for his decision to end his tenure.

Mascherano expressed gratitude towards the organization, players, staff, and fans, stating that the experience was unforgettable and that he would carry the memories of their first title with him. He thanked the club for their trust and acknowledged the collective effort that made their achievements possible.

Mascherano's impact was recognized by club owner Jorge Mas, who noted that he would always hold a special place in the club's history. Mascherano took over as head coach in January 2025, despite having no prior senior managerial experience.

Under his leadership, Inter Miami won the Major League Cup title and the Eastern Conference Championship, scoring a record-breaking 101 goals across the regular season and postseason. He also led the team to a historic milestone by reaching the knockout round of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
