Guillermo Hoyos Named New Coach of Inter Miami

Guillermo Hoyos has been unveiled as the new head coach of Inter Miami, following the departure of Javier Mascherano, who left the club for personal reasons just four months after taking charge. Hoyos, aged 62, has a long-standing friendship with Lionel Messi, having mentored him during his time at Barcelona's youth team two decades ago.

Despite their close relationship, Hoyos emphasized that their friendship will not interfere with his coaching responsibilities. He will oversee the team in the upcoming matches, with a club statement confirming his role as head coach.

Inter Miami currently sits third in the Eastern Conference as they prepare for the League Cup starting August 7. Hoyos is expected to remain in charge until a new coaching setup is established.
