Alliance Movement Urges INEC to Recognize Olawepo-Hashim

Members of the Alliance Movement have called on the party leadership to submit Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim's name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the sole presidential candidate for the upcoming 2027 general elections. This request was made during a press conference in Abuja, where party members expressed fears that attempts to undermine the party's machinery could jeopardize the selection process.

Maxwell Mgbude, the party's national chairman, stated that no presidential primaries had been conducted to select a standard bearer, thus making it inappropriate to field any candidate. Hon. Light Adah Adoko, the Director General of the Alliance Movement, emphasized the need for adherence to electoral guidelines and warned against actions that could threaten internal party democracy.

The members underscored the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by past heroes in Nigeria's democratic struggle and urged the party to uphold justice and fairness in its political processes.
