Bala Mohammed Meets Tinubu Over Bauchi Security Issues

On Friday, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed held a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, amidst growing rumors of a possible defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP). The meeting primarily addressed the worsening security situation in Bauchi State, particularly in the Alkaleri local government area, where bandit attacks have forced many residents to flee their homes.

Governor Mohammed briefed President Tinubu on the impact of these attacks, which have been attributed to armed groups operating in the forests of Gwana, Kafin Duguri, and Mansur Yalau Futuk. He emphasized the need for stronger federal intervention and requested military deployment to enhance the capabilities of security agencies in the troubled areas.

President Tinubu assured support from the federal government to complement Bauchi State's efforts in addressing these security challenges. Governor Mohammed reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP and dismissed speculation regarding a defection, stating his focus remains on protecting lives and restoring peace in the state.
