Osun PDP Chairman Sunday Bisi Arrested During Election

Sunday Bisi, the Osun State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was arrested by police personnel at his residence in Ilesa around 2 PM on the day of the ongoing governorship election. This information was disclosed by Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known as Davido, on his verified X account.

Davido alleged that Bisi was taken into custody shortly after he returned from voting, with police accusing him of moving around on election day. Governor Ademola Adeleke condemned the arrest, describing it as an abuse of law enforcement and an attempt to intimidate PDP supporters.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor claimed that Bisi was whisked away to an undisclosed location without any communicated reason. He alleged that this incident was part of a broader plan to restrict PDP supporters from accessing collation centers and potentially alter the election results.

Governor Adeleke called for Bisi's immediate release and emphasized the need for voters to exercise their democratic rights without intimidation.
