JUST IN: Police Uncover Bomb on Farmland in Borno [PHOTOS]

The Borno State Police Command recently discovered an unexploded bomb on a farmland in Dikwa Local Government Area. Police spokesperson Nahum Daso confirmed the finding, stating that a farmer, Babagana Kachalla, had alerted security operatives after spotting the suspicious device.

The Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, then deployed an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to the scene. The unexploded ordnance (UXO) was identified as a cluster bomb unit (CBU) measuring one meter in length and 30 centimeters in width.

Following safety protocols, the area was cordoned off, and the device was safely neutralized through demolition. Daso emphasized the successful conclusion of the operation without any casualties, highlighting the importance of community sensitization on safety measures and prompt reporting of suspicious objects.
