Police Recover Unexploded Bomb In Borno

The Borno State Police Command recently recovered an unexploded ordnance (UXO) in a farmland in Dikwa Local Government Area. The operation was initiated after a farmer, Babagana Kachalla, reported a suspicious object on his land.

State Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, deployed an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team from Maiduguri to the site. The officers cordoned off the area and identified the device as a Cluster Bomb Unit (CBU).

The EOD team safely carried out a controlled demolition, removing the munition without any casualties reported. Police spokesperson, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, emphasized the importance of public safety and urged residents to report any suspicious objects immediately.

This incident highlights the ongoing threat of explosive hazards in the region.
