Power Minister Adelabu to Resign for Governorship Bid

Power Minister Adelabu is preparing to resign from his position to pursue his ambition for governorship. This decision follows his meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, where he presented a detailed report on his stewardship of the power sector over the past two and a half years.

President Tinubu commended Adelabu for his dedication and progress in the sector, particularly in establishing strong policies aimed at transforming the power landscape. The Minister's resignation is anticipated to occur soon, as he has already received the President's consent to pursue his political aspirations.

Tunji Bolaji, the Minister of Power's special adviser on strategic communication, noted that Adelabu's plan to resign reflects his commitment to ensuring continued reforms within the power sector. The Minister highlighted key achievements during his leadership, including efforts to stabilize electricity generation, improve transmission capacity, and implement reforms across the power value chain.
