Southwest Monarch Meets Yoruba Activist Igboho Amid Insecurity Concerns

Southwest monarch, Olubadan Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, held a private meeting with Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho at Bodija palace in Ibadan. The 40-minute gathering on September 29 focused on addressing the increasing insecurity in the Southwest due to bandit threats.

Oba Ladoja warmly greeted Igboho, who is on the government's wanted list for alleged weapon stockpiling. The meeting aimed to find a secure channel to resolve Igboho's issues.

This encounter follows the July 2021 raid on Igboho's home by security forces, resulting in casualties. The meeting signifies a potential shift in the government's approach to the activist.
