Sunday Igboho Reacts to Rumours of Abusing Alaafin of Oyo, Video Goes Viral

Sunday Igboho, a prominent Yoruba activist, responded to rumors of disrespecting the Alaafin of Oyo in a viral video. Igboho apologized to Abimbola Owoade, a chief of the Alaafin, during a visit to the Ooni of Ife's palace.

In the video, Igboho clarified that his remarks were not meant as an insult to the Alaafin, whom he holds in high regard as an essential monarch in the southwest region. Yoruba leaders, including the Egbe Ilosiwaju Yoruba group, called for an end to the conflict between the Alaafin and the Ooni, urging the governors of Oyo and Osun states to initiate a ceasefire.

The group expressed concern over the damage caused by the ongoing distraction to the Yoruba people globally. Additionally, a prominent lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, emphasized the historical significance of the matter and stated that the Supreme Court judgment supports.
