Tinubu Addresses Plateau Attack Victims at Airport

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu addressed victims of the recent attacks in Plateau State at the airport instead of visiting the affected community due to logistical constraints. A statement issued by the presidency clarified that Tinubu's itinerary on Thursday included receiving Chad's President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno before proceeding to Ogun State.

However, the trip to Ogun was suspended to accommodate an emergency visit to Jos, Plateau State. The meeting with the Chadian leader focused on strengthening security cooperation between the two countries.

Upon arrival in Jos, Tinubu faced further logistical challenges as the airport runway does not support night operations due to the absence of navigational aids. The presidency emphasized the government's commitment to justice and peace, announcing the deployment of 5,000 AI-enabled cameras to enhance security and identify perpetrators of violence.
