Rivers State Assembly to Resume Sitting After Emergency Rule Suspension

The Rivers State House Assembly is set to resume sitting after 10 days of suspension due to the State Emergency Rule imposed by President Bola Tinubu. Speaker Hon Martin Amaewhule will lead the 27 lawmakers in their first sitting at the Assembly Residential Complex along Harcourt Expressway.

The lawmakers returned to the state after the expiration of the emergency rule. As of the press time, the lawmakers were already at the Assembly residential complex preparing for the session.

This development marks a significant step towards the restoration of democratic governance in Rivers State.
