JUST IN: SDP senator dumps party, joins APC

Senator Aliyu Wadada from Nasarawa West has left the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was seen at the presidential villa in Abuja meeting with President Bola Tinubu to inform him of his decision.

Wadada, who had previously left the APC for the SDP, cited circumstantial reasons for his defection, stating that he is nursing a governorship ambition in Nasarawa. He expressed his pride in the SDP but mentioned that the dynamism of life made it imperative for him to switch parties.

Wadada also declared his support for Tinubu's presidential bid in 2031, dismissing the opposition's ability to outperform the current government. This move signifies a significant shift in Wadada's political allegiance and aspirations.
