Senate Screens Taiwo Oyedele for Minister of State Finance

On Wednesday, the Nigerian Senate began the screening process for Taiwo Oyedele, nominated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the position of Minister of State for Finance. The motion to admit Oyedele into the chamber was moved by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and subsequently approved.

Oyedele arrived at the Senate chamber at 2:21 PM, accompanied by several government officials, including Kayod Ajulo and Tokunbo Kayod. He is set to replace Dr.

Dori Uzoka, who previously held the position. Oyedele, who hails from Ikaram Akoko in Ondo State, has extensive experience in fiscal policy and tax reform, having served as the fiscal policy partner and Africa tax leader at PwC for 22 years.

He holds a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from Yaba College of Technology, a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, and has completed executive education programs at the London School of Economics and Harvard Kennedy School.
