Tinubu Appoints Taiwo Oyedele as Minister Pending Senate Approval

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Taiwo Oyedele as Minister, with the appointment awaiting confirmation from the Senate, led by President Godswill Akpabio. Oyedele, who hails from Ikaram Akoko in Ondo State, is the chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reform, tasked with overhauling Nigeria's tax system.

He holds a Higher National Diploma in Accounting and Finance from Yaba College of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University. Additionally, he completed an executive education program at the London School of Economics and attended Yale University and Harvard Kennedy School.

Oyedele has spent 22 years in his career at PwC, where he rose to become the Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader. He is also a professor at Babcock University in Ogun State and has been a visiting scholar at Lagos Business School.
