Obi Urges Nigerian Youth to Address Rising Abductions

Peter Obi, a presidential candidate from the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Nigerian youth to "Take Back Your Country" in light of increasing abductions across Nigeria. He condemned the silence surrounding the issue, particularly following a series of kidnappings, including the recent abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State and Zamfara State.

Obi noted that the current administration has recorded ten school abductions in just three years, equating this to the previous administration's eight years under President Buhari. He questioned why these tragedies have not sparked a national outcry similar to the global movement following the 2014 Chibok girls' abduction.

Obi accused the political class of prioritizing electoral ambitions over the urgent needs of citizens facing insecurity and economic hardship. He emphasized that the youth should not become indifferent to these failures and must actively engage in addressing the challenges facing Nigeria.
