Tinubu Appoints Taiwo Oyedele as New Finance Minister

President Bola Tinubu has officially sacked Wale Edun from his role as Minister of Finance and has appointed Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of Finance, coordinating Minister of the Economy. This decision was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Yomi Odunuga, Special Adviser to the Media and Publicity Secretary of the Federal Government.

Additionally, Ahm Dangiwa has been named the Minister of Housing and Urban Development. The memo, which was communicated by George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, indicated that the changes are intended to strengthen cohesion and synergy within the government to achieve impactful economic delivery under the Nigerian Renewed Hope Agenda.

The transition process is expected to be completed by April 23. The actions taken by Tinubu are in line with constitutional provisions and commend the outgoing ministers for their service.
