TUC Gives FG 14-Day Strike Notice Over 5% Fuel Tax Proposal

The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has issued a 14-day strike notice to the Federal Government over a proposed 5% fuel tax. TUC President Festus Osifo strongly condemned the plan, labeling it as economic wickedness that would exacerbate the hardships faced by Nigerians.

The TUC emphasized that the tax would further burden citizens already grappling with inflation, subsidy removal, and rising fuel prices. The union urged the government to prioritize job creation and relieve the economic strain on the populace.
