Oyo State Declares Public Holiday for Hijrah 1448AH

The Oyo State Government has officially declared Tuesday, June 16, 2026, as a public holiday in recognition of Hijrah 1448AH. This announcement was communicated through a circular signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof.

Musibau Adetunji Babatunde, and was made available to newsmen on Monday. The government has urged citizens, particularly those of the Muslim faith, to use this occasion for prayer, promoting peace, unity, and progress within the state and the country at large.
