Presidency Challenges Obi on Anambra Security Record

The Presidency has challenged Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, regarding the security situation in the state during his administration. Bayo Onanuga, a special adviser to the Presidency, referenced a video clip of Obi's successor, Willie Obiano, who claimed that the security architecture of Anambra was severely compromised during Obi's tenure.

Onanuga questioned Obi's credibility and accused him of attempting to rewrite history concerning the state's security. Obi responded by condemning the Tinubu administration's management of national security crises, particularly highlighting the recent mass abductions of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.

He noted that approximately ten school abductions occurred during Muhammadu Buhari's eight-year tenure, with the current administration recording ten mass abductions in just three years. Obi criticized the federal government's recent approval to recruit 1,000 forest guards in Oyo State, labeling it a knee-jerk reaction without a structured blueprint to address security issues.
