Ogen Critiques Oshiomhole's Claims on Obi's Security Record

Victor Ogen, leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress Caucus, has publicly criticized Adams Oshiomhole's claims regarding Peter Obi's security record during Obi's tenure as governor of Anambra State. Ogen described Oshiomhole's remarks as "brazen falsehood" and a "revisionist attempt" to rewrite history.

In a recent podcast, Oshiomhole argued that Obi's security record was poor and suggested that Obi lacked the capacity to address Nigeria's security challenges. Ogen dismissed these claims, insisting that Obi's security achievements are well-documented.

He accused Oshiomhole of deliberately distorting facts to discredit Obi, who is a presidential candidate. Ogen also referenced the support Obi provided to security agencies during his administration, including the establishment of community-based policing initiatives.

He noted that former Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Philemon Leha, praised Obi's contributions to security. Ogen's comments come as political tensions rise ahead of the 2027 general elections, where he asserts that there should be no smear campaigns against Obi.
