Oshiomhole: Edo Safer Under My Leadership Than Anambra

Adams Oshiomhole, former governor of Edo State and current senator representing Edo North, stated that Edo State is safer under his administration compared to Anambra State under former governor Peter Obi. Speaking on a podcast hosted by Seun Okinbaloye, Oshiomhole criticized Obi, a member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, for his inability to tackle insecurity, particularly regarding the Bakassi Boys, a vigilante group linked to widespread kidnappings in Anambra.

Oshiomhole recalled that one of the first major decisions by Obi's successor, Willie Obiano, was to demolish properties associated with the Bakassi Boys, indicating a failure on Obi's part to manage security effectively. He questioned Obi's capability to provide concrete solutions to national security challenges and expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu's approach to improving security in Nigeria.

Oshiomhole served as Edo State governor from 2008 to 2016, while Obi governed Anambra State from 2006 to 2014.
