Court Dismisses ADC Leadership Dispute Case in Katsina

The High Court sitting in Dutsin Ma, Katsina State, has dismissed a leadership dispute case involving the African Democratic Congress (ADC), effectively ending a suit filed by Alhaji Musa Usman Wamba, the Katsina State chairman of the ADC. Justice K.

Tukur ruled that the court lacked the legal authority to intervene in internal party matters, citing Section 83(5) of the Electoral Act, which restricts judicial interference in political party issues. Earlier, on April 7, 2026, the court had issued an interim order favoring Wamba, temporarily halting certain actions within the party pending the case's determination.

However, the latest ruling set aside this interim order entirely, emphasizing that the dispute should be resolved through internal party mechanisms rather than through the courts. The court declared that it does not have the power to hear the case, thereby dismissing it without addressing its merits.
