Yobe State Government Shuts Down Boarding Schools Over Security Threats

Yobe State Government, led by Governor Mai Mala Buni, has ordered the closure of all boarding secondary schools in the state as a precautionary measure to protect students from security threats. This decision comes after a security meeting with the state's security chiefs to review recent security incidents affecting schools across the country.

The closure directive was issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Bukar Aji Bukar.

Similar actions have been taken in other states like Niger, Adamawa, Taraba, Plateau, and Kebbi following security threats and mass abductions of students and teachers.
