317 PDP Members Defect to APC in Kaduna's Kagarko

On a significant political shift, 317 members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The formal reception of the defectors was held in Jere, with Senator Marshal Katung representing the Kaduna South Senatorial District.

The defector group was led by former PDP chairman of Kagarko LGA, Hon. Abdulrahman Jere, who articulated their decision to join the APC as a pursuit of result-driven leadership under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani's administration.

Jere emphasized the APC's commitment to infrastructure development and peace in Kaduna State, citing ongoing projects such as the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia and the Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan. Senator Katung described the mass defection as a clear indication of the southern Kaduna region's alignment with the APC's governance approach.

He urged new APC members to mobilize grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
