Senator Katung Welcomes 317 PDP Defectors to APC

On Tuesday, Senator Sundai Marshal Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, welcomed 317 defectors from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a ceremony in Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The defectors, drawn from Jere North, Jere South, and Iddah Ward, were led by former PDP chairman Abdulrahman Jere.

Senator Katung emphasized the importance of performance-driven leadership and the need for the new members to strengthen grassroots mobilization within the APC. He urged the party to fully integrate its structure at the ward and polling unit levels, stressing that the 2027 elections will be won through direct voter engagement rather than social media.

Katung also highlighted the commitment of President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani to infrastructure development and peace projects in Southern Kaduna, asserting that the defectors' decision reflects a desire for effective governance and development projects in the region.
