Kaduna Cleric Alleges APC's N500bn Election Mobilization Plan

Sunusi Khalil, a Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) intends to spend N500 billion to mobilize Islamic scholars and traditional rulers in northern Nigeria to garner support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. Khalil made these claims in a video circulated by Rigasa TV, stating that he was approached to join this initiative but rejected the proposal.

He warned that such approaches should not be made again, indicating that individuals within the government had contacted him regarding this alleged arrangement. Khalil's claims have sparked online debate, particularly concerning Nigeria's economic hardships and the funding gaps in critical sectors like healthcare.

As of now, the APC has not issued an official response to these allegations, and there is no public indication in the federal budget of an allocation for the claimed N500 billion program.
