Shehu Abg Sponsors 3,000 Students for 2026 JAMB

Shehu Abg, a former member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly and a governorship aspirant for the People's Democratic Party, has announced a sponsorship initiative for 3,000 indigent students to sit for the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. This initiative, implemented through the Shehu Abg Foundation, aims to cover the full cost of registration for beneficiaries across 23 local government areas in Kaduna State.

Abg's program is designed to assist candidates from low-income families who are otherwise unable to afford the examination fees. During an inspection of the registration center in Kaduna, Abg emphasized that the initiative responds to the increasing number of qualified students missing tertiary education opportunities due to financial constraints.

He noted that education remains a reliable tool for social mobility and aims to prevent poverty from denying children the chance to pursue higher education. The program also includes a performance-based scholarship scheme for outstanding students who excel in their examinations.
