Kaduna State Revives Christian Pilgrimage After 11 Years

Kaduna State has officially revived its Christian pilgrimage scheme after an 11-year hiatus, with 50 intended pilgrims set to embark on the journey under government sponsorship. This announcement was made during a 2025 orientation program, where Governor Uba Sani highlighted the significance of the initiative for both spiritual growth and physical economic development in the state.

The governor commended the restoration of the program, stating it reflects leadership's recognition of the importance of spiritual growth alongside economic development. Bako, a commissioner, noted that the revival of the pilgrimage scheme demonstrates the government's commitment to justice and inclusivity.

He urged the intended pilgrims to use the opportunity to promote peace, unity, and prosperity in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole. The last sponsored Christian pilgrimage from Kaduna occurred in November 2014, when 567 pilgrims were airlifted to Israel.
