293 PDP Groups Defect to APC in Potiskum Ahead of Elections

In a significant political shift in Potiskum, 293 groups from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) have officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This move is seen as a major boost for the APC in Yobe State ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The defection was led by Audu Hamisu, popularly known as Soja Boi, who is the chairman of the PDP in Potiskum Local Government Area. The groups included members from prominent political factions such as Tora Bora, Texaco, Sokol, Jigawa, Dorawa, Kabul, Kamfala, Old Kwata, and Rasha.

The Yobe State APC chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Gadaka, warmly welcomed the defectors and urged them to work diligently for the party's success in the upcoming elections. Hamisu explained that the decision to join the APC was motivated by the party's current policies and programs, which have positively influenced political alignments in the area, marking a significant realignment in Potiskum's political landscape.
