Kaduna State Distributes 174,366 Textbooks for Education

The Kaduna State government has launched an initiative to distribute 174,366 textbooks and 190,175 exercise books to public primary schools across the state. This distribution also includes 32,343 school uniforms, 3,675 pairs of sandals, 3,675 school bags, 40,175 pencils, 36,000 biros, 36,000 rulers, and 2,788 sports equipment.

The ceremony was led by Mubarak Moha, the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB), emphasizing the intervention's goal to strengthen the foundation of literacy and numeracy, and to remove barriers to school attendance. The initiative reflects collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and aims to improve learning outcomes by providing essential instructional materials.

Aisha Garba, the Executive Secretary of UBEC, and Zipporah Panguru, Director of Academic Services, highlighted the importance of ensuring that materials reach classrooms to translate into improved learning. The program also includes a pilot English transition instructional material initiative in 138 schools, aiming to support early grade learners.
