Uba Sani's Administration Focuses on Inclusive Governance

Kadir Jerri Adam, the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, commended Governor Uba Sani for running a government with a human face. Adam highlighted the administration's commitment to inclusive policies that promote peace, support workers, and strengthen public trust.

He noted that the governor's approach has significantly improved tax compliance, raising it from 30% to 80%. Adam emphasized the importance of dialogue over punitive measures in tax compliance, stating that the administration aims to restore taxpayer confidence.

He also mentioned the administration's efforts to address a substantial debt inherited and the necessity of increasing internal revenue generation, targeting N20 billion monthly. Alhaji Abdulgafar Alabelew, chairman of the NUJ Kaduna State Council, acknowledged the reforms introduced by Adam, which have led to an increase in monthly internal revenue from N4 billion to approximately N9 billion within a few years.

The partnership with the media was also encouraged to enhance understanding of tax reforms.
