Ndume Warns Tinubu of Kakistocrats in His Administration

On August 26, 2026, Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), warned President Bola Tinubu that individuals he termed "kakistocrats" are prevalent in his administration and could continue to undermine his presidency. Speaking on Arise Television, Ndume referenced a recent discovery of an alleged fake government agency operating from an official facility, which he claimed validated his concerns about the competence of some officials surrounding the President.

He stated that unless Tinubu takes action, these individuals will continue to disrupt his administration. Ndume acknowledged the investigation by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), which led to the suspension of senior government officials due to further irregularities.

While he credited Tinubu for responding to the situation, he emphasized the need for the President to strengthen the quality of his officials and tighten administrative controls to prevent such incidents in the future.
