Kalu Advocates for New Anioma State in South-East

On Wednesday, Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, renewed his support for the creation of an additional state in the South-East, specifically advocating for the Anioma State proposal. He made this known during a courtesy visit from stakeholders of the Anioma State Movement.

Kalu highlighted that the creation of a new state cannot be achieved in isolation and stressed the importance of collaboration among governors and stakeholders across the South-East and South-South regions. He noted that the success of the proposal depends on the willingness of stakeholders to engage constructively.

Kalu commended Senator Ned Nwoko for his relentless advocacy for the Anioma cause and outlined key criteria for state creation, including geographical, historical, cultural, economic, and political considerations. He called for unity among the Igbo people to strengthen the case for state creation, emphasizing that any approach outside of this unity would be a waste of time.
