Kano Assembly Confirms Murtala Garo as Deputy Governor

The Kano State House of Assembly has confirmed Murtala Garo as the new Deputy Governor of Kano State. This confirmation followed a successful screening process conducted by an ad hoc committee, which presented its report during a plenary session on Monday, presided over by Speaker Jibril Falgor.

The committee, chaired by Deputy Speaker Muhammad Bello, conducted a thorough evaluation of Garo's educational background, professional experience, and understanding of the state's governance vision. The screening process included an extensive question-and-answer session.

The committee's report indicated that Garo demonstrated a clear understanding of the responsibilities of the office and presented a workable vision to support the administration of Governor Abba Yusuf. Following the adoption of the committee's report, Speaker Falgor put the nomination to a vote, which resulted in unanimous approval from the assembly members.
