Kano Assembly Confirms Murtala Garo as Deputy Governor

The Kano State House of Assembly has confirmed Murtala Sule Garo as the new deputy governor of Kano State. This confirmation followed a thorough screening process conducted by the assembly, which was presided over by Speaker Jibril Isma'il Falgore.

The report was presented by the chairman of the ad hoc committee, Deputy Speaker Muhammad Bello Garo, who explained that the screening adhered to Section 191 (3) (c) of the 1999 Constitution, allowing the assembly to approve a nominee when a vacancy arises. Garo demonstrated a clear understanding of his duties and presented plans to support the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The assembly adopted the committee's report, leading to Garo's confirmation, which follows the resignation of former deputy governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.
