APC Legacy Group Nominates Candidates for Kano Deputy Governor

The APC Legacy Group has officially submitted three nominees for the Deputy Governor vacancy in Kano State, which arose after the resignation of Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo on March 27, 2026. The nominees are Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, and Murtala Sule Garo.

Magaji Umar Gwammaja, a representative of the group, described the nominees as experienced leaders, highlighting Bichi's administrative background across state and federal roles, Rurum's legislative experience, and Garo's extensive service in local government and the state executive council. The list of nominees will be forwarded to security agencies for proper screening to ensure they meet the required standards.

Gwammaja also noted that the governor is expected to consult with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure political synergy and alignment, and the final selected name will be transmitted to the Kano State House of Assembly for formal screening and confirmation in accordance with constitutional provisions.
