Kano Assembly Calls for Cancellation of Customs Recruitment Over Southern Favoritism

The Kano State House of Assembly has called for the cancellation of the Nigerian Customs Service recruitment exercise, accusing it of favoring Southern states over the North. Lawan Hussaini Dala raised concerns during a plenary session, highlighting the disparity in the number of candidates recruited from the North compared to the South, particularly Lagos and Ogun states.

The assembly urged the federal government to cancel the process and conduct a transparent and balanced recruitment exercise. The motion was supported by lawmakers, emphasizing the need for equal opportunities across geopolitical zones.
